Carpet cleaning tips for the Spring Time Months are right
around the corner, and for many of us that means an onslaught of visitors. Get a
jump start on your cleaning by taking care of the carpeting throughout the

stay clean longer and make the cleaning process easier:
Clean it before it gets dirty. Because of the fibers in many carpets, dirt may
not be visible until the fibers are permanently damaged. Clean before it's too
late.
Vacuum frequently. Regular vacuuming with your standard household cleaner can
pick up a lot of dirt. Use a new bag and go over the room several times to get
as much dirt as you can. This practice will make the job of a carpet cleaner
easier.
Attack stains quickly. Treat stains before they have a chance to soak in or dry.
Scrape up solids and blot the remaining stain with a white cloth or paper towel.
Pre-treat spots and traffic areas. Use a cleaning solution in a spray bottle to
lightly soak the worst places. Be sure to use a cleaner designed for this. The

Check the seams. Liquid cleaning can cause some carpet backing to shrink, which
pulls on loose seams and opens them. Apply carpet tape to loose seams before you
clean to prevent this problem.
Use soap and chemicals sparingly. Using too much detergent or cleaning compound
will leave a residue on your carpet that will only attract more dirt. More is
definitely not better..
